Named after William I. Marcy, American statesman and secretary of state.  Birthday,  December 12, 1786.

The original Marcy opened in 1872 at 9th ave. SE and 4th St.  It's name was changed to Arnold in 1910 and then changed again to Trudeau in 1920.  That building closed in 1937.  The new Marcy  opened in 1992 at 415 4th Ave. SE.
