When Ericsson closed in 2005 the students merged with Northrop School students at the Ericsson building.

Ericsson was named after John Ericsson a Swedish engineer and inventor. He was the builder of the famous warship the Monitor used by the U.S Navy in the Civil War.  Birthday, July 31, 1803.

 It is now named Northrop Community School.
